Silence In The Forest
My sister always laughs at me. “And A dragon does not wear makeup!” “I never understood how that was bothering him. Me, I love flowers, birdsong early in the morning, and then I also like to drink tea while drawing. But I’m still a dragon, one that breathes fire and says bad words, one that smells bad.
In the morning I like to take a walk in the forest, it smells of nature and I sometimes take a nap in the shade of a large oak tree. This morning there was not a cat in the woods, nor a fox or a squirrel either. I just saw the silhouette of a rabbit sneaking into its burrow. It was starting to get strange this silence, but the strangest thing was when the silence was broken by a scream, a horrible barbaric howl that made your ears fly. I was only half reassured; dragon or not, I’m more comfortable in front of the fireplace with hot chocolate and a good book than alone in front of a scary monster! A tear was already falling from the corner of my eye. I thought about my sister, it would have given him too much pleasure to see me come back so quickly and in this state so I swallowed my tears and I approached stealthily, well, rather dragon’s stance, it is a little less discreet. I still managed to get close to the source of all this uproar and there I found myself face to face with a princess. A little redhead in a yellow raincoat and rain boots. She was running through the mud screaming to scare the birds. I knew right away that she was a princess, she was so beautiful. When she saw me she stopped dead and after a few seconds of staring at me she burst out laughing, infectious laughter. She was even more beautiful, she was beaming. I laughed with her and then we talked for hours, like we had known each other forever. I pulled out the blanket I always have in my bag and put her on the floor to sit down – I hate getting my butt dirty – as she continued to wade through the mud. We promised to meet again tomorrow morning.
